Pilates works best when we understand the whole body — not just the parts. And when we teach the person, not the exercise.
My work sits at the intersection of:
•Pilates lineage
•contemporary movement science
• and the lived experience of teaching day after day.
I don’t believe Pilates needs reinventing.
I believe it needs understanding more deeply.
As research into fascia and biotensegrity evolves, it’s offering language and frameworks that help explain what many teachers have always sensed:
that the body is relational, adaptive, and deeply interconnected.
My role — and my passion — is to bridge that gap.
I’m a second-generation Pilates teacher, a Polestar educator, studio owner, and mentor to teachers at every stage of their careers.
Over the years I’ve taught thousands of sessions — from one-to-one rehabilitation work to busy studio classes — and I continue to teach and learn through that experience.
My work has taken me beyond the studio as well.
I teach internationally, including for Pilates Anytime, and support teachers through workshops, mentorship, and advanced education.
Alongside this, I developed Whole Body Pelvic Health — a specialist pathway that integrates pelvic health into Pilates through a whole-body lens.
But at the heart of everything I do is the same simple intention:
Supporting thoughtful teachers to build sustainable, meaningful careers.
• we teach people, not Pilates
• confidence comes from understanding why, not performing how
• strength without adaptability is not longevity
• and good teaching is a lifelong, evolving practice
• And good teaching is a lifelong process of learning, sensing, and adapting.
Most of all, I believe teachers shouldn’t have to figure all of this out alone.
Teaching can be deeply rewarding work.
But it can also feel surprisingly isolating.
That’s why I’ve created spaces where teachers can think, question, practise, and grow together.
Through Claire Sparrow Pilates, I offer professional education, mentorship, and community for teachers who want depth, clarity, and longevity in their work.
This is not fast-track education.
It’s not about trends, perfection, or performance.
It’s about supporting teachers to:
• think clearly
• teach whole bodies
• integrate new science with established principles
• and sustain themselves in this profession for the long term
Because Pilates is not static.
And neither are we.
